Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the clan.

This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Seekers and Strategists groups.

Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
