I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
